On 28 April afternoon, Riam Institute of Technology (RIAMTEC) brought its students and staff members on their first field trip to Horizn Digital. Under the supervision of staff members including the Head of School of Business, Agnes Tai, Head of Student Service and Admission, Lina Then and the programme leader, Tan Tze Horng, a total number of 8 students from the Diploma in Digital Marketing programme made their way to the office on time. The site visit was conducted as a part of the cooperative activities in conjunction with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year (24 January).
The joint activity was done in hopes of providing the students with an insight into how digital marketing is applied and engaged in real-life operations as well as promoting Horizn Digital beyond the business people. The aim of the site visit was not only to provide as much informative and educational view but also to inspire these young minds to deepen their interest in learning about the business perspective of digital marketing.
On that meaningful afternoon, the guests from RIAMTEC were welcomed with a starting speech in the meeting room by the CEO of Horizn Digital, Jarone Choo and the Marketing Manager, Owen Choo. Soon after, the whole space was just echoed with applause as each student was taking turns introducing themself. Following the short briefing, the guests were shown around the office for a mini-tour and all the team members were introduced. Sharing their experiences, work-in-progress and thoughts, the students stood in awe in the space of the digital marketing agency. In return for the knowledge sharing session from the members of Horizn Digital, the students of RIAMTEC had the opportunity to seek answers to their curious questions about the field. The highlight of the event was definitely the refreshment and networking session. Not only did the students have the chance to finally fill their empty stomachs, but also interacted with the Horizn Digital members. For some, this session was a mini-reunion, especially for a few members of Horizn Digital, to catch up with the educators and staff members of their alma mater. Before ending the visit, both RIAMTEC and Horizn Digital members took part in a brief formal photo session as a record of the significant day.
